There is a version of Enneagram training that ends with a certificate.
You complete the course. You understand the nine types. You can describe the patterns, the fears, the fixations. And then a client sits in front of you — and you’re not quite sure what to do with it.
Most Enneagram education teaches the map. Very little teaches you how to use it — live, responsively, and in genuine service of the person in front of you.
The gap between knowing the Enneagram and working with it with your client is significant. And it is largely unaddressed.
How do you develop working hypotheses about a client’s type without premature labelling?
What do you do when your own type gets activated in the session?
How do you work with the Enneagram relationally rather than interpretively?
What happens when a client’s pattern pulls for your own?
The Practitioner’s Enneagram works with the gap between certification and confidence. We are less interested in how quickly a practitioner can type a client, and more interested in how safely, compassionately, and accurately they can stay in relationship while working with complex human experience.
Our work is:
Trauma-informed — type as adaptive intelligence, not pathology
Relationally grounded — what happens between you and your client is clinical material
Somatically aware — type structure lives in the body, not just the mind
Reflective — the practitioner’s own type, triggers, and nervous system are part of the work
Embodied — wisdom that lives in you, not just in theory
One of the central questions The Practitioner’s Enneagram holds is this: what happens when each of the nine types of practitioners works with each of the nine types of clients?
Where is the resonance? Where is the friction? Where might collusion quietly take hold?
Your Enneagram Type shapes what you notice and what you miss. It influences how you respond when the work gets uncomfortable. It determines which client patterns pull for your care — and which ones quietly activate your own.
